Data Pump Bundle Patch (DPBP)

Overview

The following session covers applying Data Pump Bundle Patch (DPBP).

Review MOS Doc ID 2819284.1 Data Pump Recommended Proactive Patches For 19.10 and Above and make the required changes to the below for your environment on support.oracle.com.

These examples use patch number p39657094 and RU 1932.

Session

 -- Prep: Copy then Unzip Patch File
 cp /u04/sccu/patches/DPBP/p39657094_1932000DBRU_Generic.zip /u01/orasw/patches
 Perform below as the oracle user.

 cd /u01/orasw/patches
 unzip p39657094_1932000DBRU_Generic.zip

  -- Execute opatch
 SQLPLUS> shutdown immediate
 lsnrctl stop

 export CV_ASSUME_DISTID=OEL8.1;export PATH=$PATH:/usr/ccs/bin;export PATH=$PATH:$ORACLE_HOME/OPatch;cd $ORACLE_HOME/OPatch
 ./opatch apply /u01/orasw/patches/p39657094
     All checks passed.
     Backing up files...
     Applying interim patch 'p39657094' to OH '/u01/app/oracle/product/19.3.0.0.0/dbhome_1'
     ...
     OPatch succeeded.

 -- Execute datapatch (assume still in $ORACLE_HOME/OPatch)
 lsnrctl start
 SQLPLUS> startup

 ./datapatch -verbose

    Determining current state...done

    Patch p39657094 apply: SUCCESS

 SQLPLUS> @?/rdbms/admin/utlrp.sql

 -- Get Patch Status
 SELECT patch_id, action, status, description
 FROM dba_registry_sqlpatch
 WHERE patch_id=p39657094;

Deinstallation

1.	Deinstall the patch by running the following command:
	$ opatch rollback -id {$:vPatchNumber}

2.	Ensure that you verify the Oracle Inventory and compare the output with the one run 
    before the patch installation and re-apply any patches that were rolled back as part 
    of this patch apply. To verify the inventory, run the following command:
	$ opatch lsinventory

Post-Deinstallation
1.    Navigate to the <ORACLE_HOME>/OPatch directory:
      $ cd <ORACLE_HOME>/OPatch

2.    Deinstall the SQL portion of the patch by running the following command:
      $ datapatch

3.    Start sqlplus and run the utlrp.sql to clear the invalids only if dpload.sql is 
      a part of the patch
      SQL> @?/rdbms/admin/utlrp.sql

Note: For a RAC environment, perform these steps on only one node.
